Absolutely terrible customer service skills. Was contacted by them working on a job for RAC. Changed waiting time to recover my vehicle 4 times. Then finally told it won't be recovered until the next day and to take a taxi, after being told someone was on their way. Julie who was on the phone spoke very rudely and was screeching down the phone as if she was being strangled. Interrupted and wouldn't let me get a word in before finally hanging up. My experience with RAC from start to finish was not the best, but when my job was then handed by them to richford motors it became dreadful. The staff I interacted with were rude, very unhelpful and had a careless attitude. I am sorry that my breakdown inconvenienced your day. You might want to think how missing 4 collection times (that you set) impacts your customers whole day after turning-up over 6 hours late! A worthy winner of a ‘Wooden Spoon Award’ and congratulations on turning a simple car recovery into a 7 hour Fiasco!

RAC need to throw these people as far as no one can ever reach them, as that is how they operate with you. Waiting since 3.30pm on a farm road with no lights and they keep delaying getting to you - with not even a call to let you know. Now told they will be 11.30pm. It’s a joke. They are full of excuses!
Our timing belt has gone and we have not eaten since 1.30pm and our elderly passengers have missed their medication. This sort of company needs to be gone. I will do everything possible to ensure everyone I know is aware RAC use this company. We have been left stranded in the dark on a farm road and not been able to put the hazards on as the battery has now gone flat and our phone batteries almost flat too. I tried to take this further with RAC and they just directed me to rac.co.uk/complaints

After having problems with my car which couldn't be fixed by any garage other than a Vauxhall Richard let me keep my car at his garage over the weekend then after falling ill the car remained there until I could manage to collect it and take it to a Vauxhall dealer can't thank him enough very caring considerate company highly recommend to anybody

I would like to thank the gentleman that came out and rescued me last night. I broke down on the A50 in a very dark spot and being a female on my own was very scared. He got to me in the time that he said he would and although he was unable to mend my car, he towed me home. A very professional, pleasant and kind man. Thankyou Jodie :)

On 16th April my car was recovered to Richford Motors, I had an on going issue with a garage in Darlington which meant that I had to keep the vehicle at Richfords in Alfreton. After explaining my predicament to Richard at the Alfreton depot he / they have been brilliant, they could have applied costs of storing my car but didn't. 5 star and thanks

After breaking down at the side of the M1, Richford Motor Services were the company that came to my aid. A very prompt courtesy call came 1st which advised their ETA and put me at ease. They delivered on their ETA and on arrival the driver was very well presented and polite. The vehicle was not repairable roadside but they offered me a hire car and their repair services at their nearby workshops. I was quoted on repairs and after searching the web and asking for other quotes they were very competitive on price. They advised me they would be in touch the following day when repairs should be complete, and supplied me a hire car as promised. The following day the call came and my car was done. I was very happy with the service Richford Motor Services provided and would surely recommend.

this company has so much to offer & saves you having to go anywhere else as they do everything.
They are certainly not the cheepest, but by far not the dearest, but quality is worth paying for.
These guys are always busy and under tremendis pressure to get peoples cars fixed as swiftly as they do, looking at the reviews i am very disapointed that people dont appreciate the service this firm offers 24hrs a day if required.
Well they have allways been good for me & fammily + friends, so carry on the good work to all the staff at richfords.

When we broke down, our insurance company sent Richford Motors to help us out - however, whilst the man who came out to us was very helpful and courteous, and genuinely seemed to want to help, we were less impressed when we received the quote for the work - which was almost double the rate quoted by other local garages. They also tried to fob me off by saying the part (an alternator) wasn't a standard part (it was!), and that it would take 3 days to source one, the only alternative being a very expensive dealer part. In fact, it took only 2 phonecalls to source the part locally at almost £160 less than Richford quoted! Approach with caution. I also felt that because I was a woman they felt they could 'bamboozle' me by warning me against using non dealer parts, that they would be unreliable (they aren't!) - my car is 21 years old, I doubt it has many original dealer parts remaining. Very disapointed and would not use, or recommend. Will be following up with a complaint via my insurance company.

My car was recently involved in an accident and required amongst other things a new front & back bumper along with some other paintwork. As I did not wish to drive the car in it's damaged state, Richford Motors came and collected my car. They were very professional and curtious and completed the job in less than a week. The paint finish was excellent and the car was fully valeted prior to my collecting it.
They also put me in touch with a company called RTR (Road To Recovery) who completely took over my insurance claim, provided me with a courtesy car whilst mine was away being repaired and made the whole thing hassle free.
I would not hesitate to recommend Richford Motors to any of my friends, family or colleagues.
They also have a very well run workshop and MOT testing station where I (and my family and my families business) have my car serviced at a much lower cost than at the main dealers. They can even deliver & collect vehicles if need be.
As I said before - this is a top class company offering a great service and I would reccomend them to anyone.
