Speedtest

After shocking service at Citroen and a quote of up to £1,000+, I was so pleased to find Speedtest. Roger sorted out my key/immobiliser problem without any fuss for £150. I cannot recommend him enough - so nice to trust what you are told and know you won't be ripped off. Don't believe the delear when you're told only they can fix electronics.

I would just like to say I have popped into this garage many times & have always been looked after. Nothing is ever too small & they never make me wait. They are honest & prices have always been reasonable. I can't say enough good things about this establishment, I will always recommend them & will always use them. Thanks guys.

I've been taking my various cars to Speedtest for around 3 years and have always been happy with the service I have received. When it comes to garages it can take quite a while to build up a level of trust, but following a couple of incidents where I was in a vulnerable position and could have been taken advantage of - instead they were totally honest - I now place great faith in their honesty and workmanship. The charges are very reasonable and I have recommended them to friends and family. Highly recommended!

Myself, and my son both now use speedtest. Here is an example why. I bought one of those £70 tickets which give you an MOT, 2 cleans, a major or minor service, wheel balancing etc with a local main dealer. They came back after the service with a list of things that needed doing - including a rear seatbelt that didn't work - they said the clip was broken and wanted me to pay £186 for supplying and fitting a new seatbelt clip. As my MOT was coming up and the car wouldn't have passed with a broken rear seatbelt I took the car to speedtest as their hourly rate was half what the main dealer wanted and I also wanted a second opinion. Barry fixed the seatbelt clip by just "hoovering" out the muck and dogs hair that had got into it and it worked fine, and he only charged 1/2 an hours labour...........so that saved me over £150. These guys are real mechanics, not just fitters, and they have real mechanical engineering and diagnostic skills.

Barry always goes out of his way to help, and does whatever he can to get the cost of your bill down as much as possible. In wouldn't go anywhere else.

Have used both Barry and Roger for a number of years now and wouldn't go anywhere else. Most recently Roger has been particularly helpful. My diesel Sedici's DPF had become clogged and the Fiat parts people wanted £2500 for a new one! Roger went WAY out of the way to help me when the filter became so clogged the car wouldn't run any more and there were red and amber warning lights flashing everywhere.
He manufactured a temporary bit of exhaust in order to read the fault codes to establish the cause of the problem, which turned out to be the EGR valve. The valve was changed, the fault codes reset and a replacement DPF was manufactured which has now restored the car to proper running. Roger is a bit of a whizz on the diagnostics, an aspect of car maintenance that he has a particular interest in. My thanks go out to SPEEDTEST. (Small bill too, considering the amount of time he spent on the car) Many thanks Roger!

I first discovered Barry and Speedtest about 6 years ago, since when I have never used anyone else, and have recommended him to all my friends, most of him also now use him.

Have never met such helpful knowledgeable staff, and people who are so keen on NOT spending your money unnecessarily.

In particular, his tyre prices are astonishing.

Highly Recommended,trusted to say the least,ask for Roger he is superb with exellent Mechanical Skills and a specialist in Auto electrics, why use a main dealer??

I have the exact opposite experience - just make sure you ask for Barry, who is the best mechanic in the biz

Found my bill to be much higher than the estamate i was given and no attempt was made to contact me before extra work was carried out.
