My 2.7 s/type diesel was taken to Rybrook with the engine management light on. They diagnosed a fault on the r/h egr valve which was replaced by them. The engine management light re-appeared a few days later, and they diagnosed a fault on the l/h egr valve which needed to be replaced. To have this diagnosis verified, I took the car to a Jaguar independant dealer who said the problems I was experiencing were not due to the egr valve, but due to an over pressure fault on the fuel system which was dumping extra fuel into the cylinders to compensate for the high pressure in the system. They have replaced the parts they thought necessary and the car is fine. I feel that Rybrook just change parts (at considerable expense) to see if it works, and then go to the next one on the list.I always wanted to maintain my car with full Jaguar service history, but am unable to recommend Rybrook (in Chester). My advice is to ALWAYS get a second opinion, it will save you money.
