My crafter has done 32000 km and an electrical fault caused the hydrolic pump in the auto transmision to fail, luckily there was one in australia otherwise it would have had to come from Germany, my business was left stranded for 2 days while VW roadside assist demonstrated there lack of urgency and serious limitations in arranging a siutable replacement, i eventually realised there inability and within 2 hrs found a siutable vehicle within the budget, i then phoned them and gave them the contact so they could do their job.My closest VW dealer is Gary Crick Maroochydore and VW is only one of many makes they deal in, which means they do have very good trades people but they are not as familiar with Crafter as they have not been in service for very long and are not on the road in great numbers. The auto is lethargic and seems to get easily confused which can leave you dangerously stranded at intersections until you learn to compensate for it.If i had to buy another Crafter i would go manual,so if you are considering one my advise is ask lots of questions, as my experience is that its not as good as its made to look once you have signed the dotted line.
Good luck
