Peugeot 3008 Owner Reviews

Car bought used from main dealer. I like high driving position, centre console and cosmetic finish of interior, also drop down boot shelf is useful. Like previous reviewer I can also feel vibration from clutch which is not present on other cars I have owned. Dealer says it is acceptable and I have learned to ignore it. More difficult to ignore is occasional rattle from dashboard which when it starts is really bad. Right hand air vent also rattles as does drivers window glass. My model is 1.6 diesel which is adequate and nippy from 30 to 40 for overtaking but a bit slow off the mark from a standing start. I would get 2 litre with hindsight as this also has anti roll fitted. If the car was better screwed together it would get top marks, as it is it falls just short. Would I buy another? probably yes but it would get a proper test drive to check for the rattles.

Bought my 3008 new in September 2010, its the 1.6 petrol manual exclusive. So far have lost two expansion bottles of water, which the dealer can not find the cause of and had the engine management light come on twice which both times the dealer said they had fixed it and it wouldn't happen again. The service side of the dealer in Ashford Kent is terrible and have now lost all faith in the car. The car is well finished and has plenty of space and is very comfortable just a shame the build quality and back up is missing.

I have owned a 3008 since the first day on the road to the public 1st Nov 2009. I have drived over 25000 in it and bits are great and bits poor. The heads up disply is the best addition to a car since the auto choke. The headlights in dip are very poor, leg room in the back very restricted. I am accused of being a rear seat driver as I am so close to the back seat. I hope fukll auto is better than semi as it takes a lot of getting used to(my wife hates it) Tyres wore out quick as Puegeot set pressures too high (I just found out) Boot entrance is too high. No spare wheel. It is confortable to drive and i do like it but I have a built in Sat Nav which if it stayed on it would also be good but sadly it repeatedly goes off and has been in to Peugeot 4 times and still fails. Fed up with it I want to sell but cant with a faulty sat nav. Economy is constantly over 50 with my 1.6 diesel. Sort the sat nav improve the lights and move the back seat back 100mm and you have an excellent car.

my complaint with the 3008 is at best having just a few niggles with the car. the first is with the pedals, more noticably the clutch, when driving i can feel vibration when partially depressing the pedal. my previous car was a 207 and i never had a problem with that. it almost feels a bit like driving a van so i'm wondering if that is indeed where they have decided to source their clutch components from?
secondly after longer journeys or in hot conditions i can notice a resin smell when outside the car comming from the bonnet. noticably the bonnet of the 3008 differs from the 207 in that it has material on it which i presume is for sound proofing. whilst it is successfull in making the drive quieter i wonder if the smell as with the pedal vibration will lead to somthing more problematic in the future.
i am by no means an expert in all things mechanical and would appreciate anyones opinion on my issues with the 3008, likewise it would be good to know if anyone is noticing the same problems in their car.
the peugeot dealer have said it seemed ok but by their own admission had not driven enough 3008's to know if it was normal.
