I have run a 1.9td 9!(1996 P Reg 155K) for the last 7 years and find a avery verstial vehicle and economical friend indeed, We average 10K a year
and it still returns 38mpg plus on a run. we have been across france, several times, with seven up plus all kit in top box, and still gave 35mpg on the autoroutes. It is a Bus/Truck/ and even mobile caravanette. The seats are easy to remove (but a bugger to store), turning it into a tidy little removal truck, On reliabilty it has only let me down once, this week with an immobliser problem which is prving stubborn to sort. This car has done 75k since we had it and with out this fault i would be scoring it a well deserved 10. Desparate to get it back as it has seen off several other lesser cars in its time with us. I recommend and intend eventually to replace with similar. I also ran a 2.0L Petrol ulyseee along side for 3 years and apart from slightly lower mpg the comments are Similar

well designed - good use of space - easier to park due to shorter than average mpv length- comfortable seats
diesel version economical - yet powerful enough
has electrical niggles which can be difficult to fault find and fix but otherwise a satisfying car
